There's an enchanting new line of dolls popping up on shelves this Spring.

Adorable can't even describe these dolls!

Do you remember the sweet smelling dolls that we played with as children?

My Pixie Dolls have a sweet aroma surrounding them.

The one received, Kaci Cotton Candy, smelled good enough to eat. I had to restrain myself!

Not only are they sweet to the smell but these dolls are beautiful. With their frilly clothing, beautiful hair and sparkly wings....they will definitely be the pick of the playroom!

My youngest daughter has really enjoyed playing with Kaci Cotton Candy. She even sleeps with her. I have no objections to that because she wakes up smelling YUMMY! lol

If you are looking for a great game for little girls then this is it!

Lovely Lisa and Friends for Nintendo DS and DSi

Both of my girls (ages 5 and 11) had a blast with this game.

A little bit about the game:

Lovely Lisa and Friends is outfitted with socially responsible gameplay that guides girls on the path to their personal best while having fun. Players can explore their individual creativity and personal style by utilizing the Nintendo DSi camera functionality to take photos of real world images, and apply them to a variety of outfits to dress Lisa. Gamers can then use their new wardrobe to play dress-up with Lovely Lisa’s two best friends, Alice and Maria. The fun continues in mini-games that include helping mom with shopping and cooking, and putting furniture together with dad.

Gamers will also try their hand at a number of professions including a police officer, nurse, and more. As an added feature, if players earn enough Lisa points to buy clothes and accessories, they can partake in the Heart Hills Idol Pageant, an idol game where they can dance their socks off and unveil their fabulous fashion creations.

The game was easy enough for my 5 year old to understand yet challenging enough for my 11 year old to enjoy. This one is by far one of my favorites (as a mom).

Lisa has opportunities in the game to help out her family whether it be with chores or just helping down in the backyard.

For each chore/task completed, Lisa earns points for shopping.

My younger daughter enjoyed the fashion designing.

She likes shopping and buying fun new outfits for Lisa.

You can also design your own clothing for future use.

Let their creativity run wild!

I still remember my first video game system.
The Nintendo.
Ah, Mario was top dawg back then.

There weren't many systems to choose from back in "my day".

(IMA always in a hurry)

IT WORKS like a CHARM and makes my HAIR look MARVELOUS and STRAIGHT.
(You can also use it to make curls but I haven't tried that yet.)

(I do believe that they will take over the world someday. BUT, that's a story for another post.) LOL!

They must be pretty popular too because we only had a few to choose from.

The Big girl loves animals.
Yep, even the big and scary ones with lots and lots of teeth.
She does NOT get that from me. I assure you.
I'm more of a cute and cuddly type of gal (and not much else).
The Big girl also likes watching those big and scary animals on Animal Planet.
Big and Scary animals attack, y'all.
Just sayin...

Not as in a little NIBBLE here and there....
I am talking about CHOMP.

Construct FUN with K'NEX !

I am willing to bet that if I were to come take a peek inside your playroom, I would find gobs and gobs of toys. Toys just sitting around in containers or toy boxes.....Toys that have not seen the light of day since Christmas 2008. Am I right?

It's pretty typical.
Child sees toy on tv.
Child wants toy.
HAS TO HAVE TOY.
Child gets toy.
&
THEN . . .
Child becomes B-O-R-E-D with toy.
(quite possible within the first 24 hours)

I see you nodding.
You know what I am talking about.

There are so many toys out there that serve only one purpose. Once that purpose has been served.....NEXT!
Children need toys that intrigue their imaginations.
Children need toys that can be played with OVER and OVER again.
Leave the boredom behind and get those creative juices a-flowing.

We were recently gifted with the K'NEX 400 piece tub and the Sesame Street Neighborhood collection building set (Police Car).
I already knew that K'NEX was a reputable brand with outstanding quality because we own several of their other playsets.

It was nice to be able to test out a couple of new products though!

A little bit about the products we reviewed:

What I liked about it: (besides the hours of quiet time that I got when he was building)
It tested his creativity...
Just when he thought he was done, he would think of something else to build and go back at it.

I had a rag doll when I was growing up and it was NO WHERE NEAR as cute as these soft rag dolls.
And Hello....My doll didn't even look like me.
What's up with that?

Wubbzy's Christmas Adventure

My kids have been singing Jingle Bells ever since August so I do believe it's time to get in the spirit.

Mythbusters Weird World of Water Kit

The other day, I posted this on twitter:

I decided not to call the news stations (mainly because my house was a mess and I would be embarrassed if they wanted a interview or something.)
We did build the rocket though.
The rocket was part of the Mythbusters Weird World of Water kit by Elmers.

Mythbusters activity kits are trial and error hands-on format made popular by the Discovery Channel's top show, Mythbusters. Each kit has several myths to "bust" regarding the specific title: Power of Pressure, Forces of Flight and Weird World of Water.

With the Weird World of Water kit you can create a water powered rocket, liquid rainbows, and test the power of a whirlpool.
All parts and instructions are included w/ the kit.
The only thing we needed was vinegar and baking soda (for the rocket to launch).

The instructions were fairly simple (according to hunky hubby).
Were we able to launch a rocket using ingredients from the kitchen pantry?
CONFIRMED!

It was pretty COOL. (according the the tykes)
It really did go pretty high up in the air and I believe it would have went a little higher with more vinegar and baking soda.

Myth of the deadly vortex
I will not tell you if this one is confirmed.
You will have to try it yourself......bwahahaha!
I will tell you that it is easy to assemble and test. My daughter (10) created this one on her own.

My thoughts on this kit:
I liked it a lot.
I thought it was a great way to have some fun with the kids and mix a little education in there too.

FYI: The Weird World of Water kit received the Family Fun magazine 2009 T.O.Y award.

My kids were amazed to hear me singing along to the Scooby Doo theme song one morning.

I will admit that I did not care for Scooby Doo when I was a kid though.
